Broken Heart
Breaking a vow of trust
I told you of a future of crystalline
In the highest peaks of the world
Asking you to travel there with me
We went far too deep
Or actually I did
Into a web of deception
Yet through it all you stood by me
Patching my every scar along the way
Being my crutch to lean on
And chasing away the flies
But Heaven called
And I left you
On top of the towering mountains
Not even caring how you would ever get back
Up to where you were
I guess heaven recalled you
Because I saw you just the other day
I had never seen you happier
Having cut the burden of me away
Our expedition had been so long ago
Yet there was a putrid lifeless fly in your pocket
In these days could you ever forgive me?
And you said you did
Now I see you in the distance
Telling God of all my sins
And the angels listen intently
As you inform me that we're still friends
Didn't you once tell me that it was okay?
Why do you carry on this facade?
I know I left you in an empty place
But I had to be closer to God
